Saint Rose Priory
Located 1/2 mile off of US Highway 150, and founded in 1806, this was the first Catholic educational institution west of the Alleghenies. One of the famous names on its roster is that of Jefferson Davis, President of the Confederacy.

Saint Catharine Mother House
Located two miles west of Springfield on US Highway 150 and established in 1822, this was the first community of the Dominican Sisters in the US. Today it is the Mother Community of the Order.
